Lyle Schiavone
As President of WFG, Lyle oversees the strategy and growth of the team. As an LPL Investment Advisor Representative, he works closely with individuals and corporate clients to provide a wide array of financial services. He uses a strategy-based approach and is dedicated to addressing the unique needs and financial objectives of each client.
With more than 33 years in the financial services industry, Lyle formed Williamsburg Financial Group in March 2007. Prior to forming WFG, he was Partner/Managing Director of a regional investment management firm serving the Hampton Roads area and Vice President/Branch Manager for Morgan Stanley in Newport News. He built his financial advisory business starting at Wheat First Securities as a Vice President, Investment Officer for over ten years.
Lyle has a Business Law major from Pace University in New York and is a graduate of the Wharton Business School Management Development Program. Lyle is a General Securities Principal, a Supervisory Principal, and a Registered Options Principal. He holds numerous securities registrations with LPL Financial including Series 4, 7, 24, 63, 65, and the CPM (Certified Portfolio Manager) designation.
As a resident of the Williamsburg area for over 30 years, Lyle has been actively involved in the community. He has served on numerous boards over the past several years which have included: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Peninsula, Director, Past Vice President; United Way of the Greater Virginia Peninsula, Advisory Board; Heritage Humane Society, Founding Director; and past Board Chairman for the Colonial Chapter of the American Red Cross. H is currently serving as a Board Member for the Arc of Greater Williamsburg.
Lyle and his wife, Linda, live in James City County Virginia with Millie (see Bio) and are back and forth to Charlottesville VA to see their youngest son at University of Virginia. They welcome home visits from their two oldest children who both live and work in the mid-Atlantic area.
Carolyn Menker CFP®
Carolyn joined WFG in September 2013 as an LPL Wealth Advisor. She has been in the industry since 2004 and has extensive knowledge of creating customized financial plans for clients for all stages of their financial lives, from the accumulation phase to preservation phase. She also has an understanding of life insurance, annuities and long-term care insurance, and how they can be integrated into a financial plan. By following a disciplined, consistent process, she is able to deliver high quality and personalized service to her clients. Carolyn maintains her Series 7, 9, and 10 registrations through LPL Financial. She also holds life and health insurance licenses.
Carolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Hospitality Management and a minor in business. She attended the University on a swimming scholarship where she was on the SEC Scholar-Athlete Honor roll for three years, the Dean’s List for two and the Distinguished Scholars Dean’s List for two.
Carolyn keeps active these days by training for and competing in triathlons and various running events. She is also married with two children and lives in Williamsburg.
Victoria C. Lyttle
As Vice President, Vicky offers a comprehensive range of financial services from selecting individual investments to developing personalized retirement plans. Through her personal consultation, and attention, Vicky is committed to helping her clients pursue their financial goals by understanding their needs, offering sound investment advice, and providing a level of personal service that exceeds expectations. Vicky’s focus is on retirement plans for Individuals (Uni-401k), Simple IRAs, and Corporate 401ks.
With more than 20 years of financial experience, Vicky started her brokerage career with Dean Witter in Santa Barbara, California. Vicky maintains her Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations with LPL Financial and holds life & health insurance licenses.
Vicky has two grown children and resides in Williamsburg with her husband, Mike.
Steven F. Kennedy
Steve began his career in the brokerage industry on Wall Street with Dean Witter Reynolds in 1985. Upon successful completion of the Wharton-sponsored training program, he practiced in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Since moving to Hampton Roads in 1993, his roles have changed from Vice President in the Private Client Services division with the 8th largest bank in the country, to serving as the managing investment officer at a local credit union. After 16 successful years with Towne Wealth Management, he joined Williamsburg Financial Group in November of 2021 as a Wealth Advisor.
Steve maintains his Series 7 and 24 registrations through LPL Financial and holds Life and Health insurance licenses. He has completed the Wharton Institute of Executive Education’s Finance and Wealth Management Program as well as the Dorsey, Wright & Associates’ Advance Point & Figure Institute program. He donates his time to CHKD, Army War College Foundation, Army Emergency Relief, Folds of Honor, Alzheimer’s Association, Center for Independent Thought, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Liz A. Ware RICP®, AIF®
Liz joined Williamsburg Financial Group as a Wealth Advisor in November of 2021. With over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, Liz works closely with clients developing and monitoring their financial futures. She also assists clients in the selection and application of their life insurance, Long Term Care, and annuity contracts. She works with individuals, trustees, business owners, 401(k) plan participants and retirement plan providers.
Liz grew up in Colorado Springs and moved to Virginia in 1985. Upon graduation from Christopher Newport University in 1990, Liz began her career with John Hancock Life Insurance Company as a licensed insurance and annuity representative. She then worked in the operations department for Harbor Bank until 1998 when Harbor Bank and TowneBank merged. At that time she was promoted to the larger role of executive assistant to the chairman of the Peninsula Board. Liz maintains her series 7 license through LPL Financial and holds her Life & Health Insurance licenses.
Liz is an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church where she volunteers her time as a Catechist and attends the annual Mission Trip to Buckingham county. She also volunteers with and supports Carenet, PORT Emergency Homeless Shelter, The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula and Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s annual auction, where her son attends school. In her spare time she volunteers at her husband’s brewery.
Liz and her husband Myron of 31 years live in Newport News, and have 3 children.
Karen Moss
Karen joined the Williamsburg Financial Group in January of 2017 with 12 years of experience in the retail banking industry. Karen is the Administrative Assistant who works closely with our advisors and clients to manage their administrative service needs.
Karen oversees the front office operations while facilitating the account opening process, managing client account transfers and handling a multitude of daily maintenance tasks. She enjoys managing the compliance aspects of the business to ensure operational excellence.
Karen is a graduate of Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Prior to settling in Virginia, Karen moved around a lot as a child. She was born on the west coast and even lived on the military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for 2 years. Her father was a Master Chief in the Coast Guard. She was a gymnast and competed in the Junior Olympics as well as other National and State competitions.
Karen and her husband Andy have 2 beautiful girls and 2 loving dogs. They moved to Williamsburg, VA in 2015. They are a sports loving family and enjoy attending professional football and baseball games. In her free time, Karen enjoys painting and drawing with her girls.
Patti Cusano
Patti Cusano joined Williamsburg Financial Group in 2022. She comes to us after the culmination of 22 years at NASA Langley where she excelled in communications.
Patti is the Office Manager of the Newport News office where she provides the highest level of personalized service to our clients and advisors. In addition, Patti manages the day-to-day operations to include account opening, money movements, and account transfers. She enjoys supporting clients as they pursue their long-term financial goals.
Patti was born in Colorado, but has lived in Virginia for 37 years. In her spare time, she enjoys concerts, the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Patti is married to her husband Al and has two wonderful sons.
Millie, Office Dog
Millie was born in Skaneateles, New York in April of 2015. If you have visited the office, you have likely met Millie. She’s an avid runner and likes to be involved in client meetings. She likes milk bones, apple slices (no peel), and playing fetch. If you see her, make sure to tell her she’s a good girl.
